So, the world is a mess. For some reason, there is always some kind of conflict in the "Middle East" at Christmas time. The economy is a world-wide horror created by the greed of the usual suspects and their spawn. Disease, famine, atrocities, etc. are running rampant and people are complaining about what they got for the holidays. This is a very grim picture indeed.
However, I've still got My Obamatude ~ feelings of hope faith in this planet because people all over the globe came together for the second time in the past decade. The first time was to march against the worst American president choosing to force the USA and other countries into an unjust, vengeance war. Recently, the world was celebrating the fact that for the first time since Abraham Lincoln (and I'm not a fan of the propaganda taught about him), the USA has a president who actually is one of The People and who has a clue about what is really going on in the world. When have you seen other countries celebrate a presidential election in a country that was not their own and on grander scales than the country that had the election?
People want to have better, be better, do better, and make this a better planet. Good prevails over evil, although evil works quickly to destroy all that is good in the world.
There will always be those who actually believe they are better because of their skin color, their barbarian-war history to feign superiority, their religious intolerance to make everyone else unloved by the One God they claim to believe in, or something incredibly stupid along those lines. But it appears that these people are dying out and the sooner the better.
I believe that We are capable of great things beyond Our own imaginings. We must believe in the goodness that exists in all people, even those who would consider themselves Our enemies. By example, We have the power to show others how to live from the best inside of Ourselves. There will always be predictable disappointments, but as My Amazing Grandmother always said, "consider the source" and know that these people are limited by their fear = False Experiences Appearing Real. Forgive them and categorize them into the "not special" section of your life. Understand that when you deal with them in the future, you will remember their limitations and not set yourself up to be disappointed by them. Should they evolve, that will be your pleasure as well as theirs. Should they choose to remain limited, you have the power to control how their failings will show up in your life.
That being said, times ahead may be tough, but the world is not designed to be a vacuum; it is designed to be a support system ~ use it that way. Reach out to your communities with an offering before you reach out with a request. That's how good things happen. When people know that you must know how to give in order to receive and, as My fabulous Aunt Diane says, "You can't receive with a closed fist."
This is a wonderful time We are living in. It is a time of hope, of possibility, and of empowerment, if We are all willing to give even a little of Ourselves. Many people do not know what they can do to contribute to their communities. Donate instead of throwing things in the garbage. Ever hear the expression, "one man's garbage is another man's treasure"? Just because that sweater has a hole does not mean that someone who needs it does not have the knowledge of how to mend that hole. Volunteer to read to seniors or children at community centers. Volunteer to help at your local animal shelter and play with some animals who are in distress. Smile at people as you pass them on the street; that may be the only smile someone receives that day. Say "thank you," "please," and "excuse me". It's the little things that add up to greatness.
I recognize that I am great; otherwise people would not have tried to steal My identity, My work, ride on My reputation, and all of the other annoying things I described in The 12 Duhs of Christmas which actually occurred in My recent past. One of the things I feel makes Me great is My practice of looking for the beauty and greatness in others and supporting them in it. More times than not, people appreciate Me for this and are able to pass on the support to others and so on and so on.
I support you in recognizing and cultivating your greatness. We are going to be just fine in 2009.
